15-Peso Burgers

I found another good thing in the hospitals open dining area.  I call it street burger!  I don't know the quality of the meat (and I'm afraid to think about it).  I just enjoy it immensely because it's so juicy!

My version:
No Cheese, Lots of Mayo

Starbucks: Banana Chocolate Hazelnut Tart

Glazed!

I asked them to warm the tart but then, I realized it would be better if they hadn't.
I ordered Espresso Frappe with it.
But since it was already a sweet treat, a more bitter coffee
would be much better.

Cyma's Skolatina

Spinach and Artichoke Dip
You cannot visit Cyma and not order this.
It's like going to McDonald's without ordering their fries.
I honestly say that it is so good.
I was wiping the bowl clean before I let the waitress take the dishes out.

Spanakopita
Spinach-filled pies
You got me at 'Spinach'.
It's not as savory but the thought that you're eating vegetables
makes it so good.

It's really filled with spinach.

Moussaka
Layers of beef, eggplant and egg flan.
Probably, Greeks version of Lasagna.
The taste is pretty interesting.

Time for dessert!

We ordered Skolatina.
My sister and brother loved my choice of dessert.
Vanilla ice cream, molten chocolate-filled chocolate cake
and subtle addition of caramel syrup.

It's not too sweet.

And we loved it. Really!

My plate of Skolatina.
I topped the ice cream with melted chocolate
and a portion of chocolate cake.

Happy 10-month Day Plate Combo

It was my anak's 10-Month Day today
And so, Grandma asked the cook to prepare pancit canton.
And I asked her to cook more than that ^_^

On my plate, Pancit Canton, Lumpia Shanghai, Pichi-pichi,
breaded chicken, leftover pizza (from somewhere I don't know).

My sister probably bought Pitchy-Pitchy randomly
and not necessarily for my Via's 10-month Day.

It's like mini cassava
Soft and Sticky!

Tokneneng

I finally got to eat from the hole-in-the-wall stands in East Avenue Medical Center.  I have tried several dishes already.  And one of my favorite is the Toknenengs.  I initially called them Kwek Kwek but then my seniors corrected me and told me that it was called Toknenengs instead.

YAAMMMMY!

Enjoyed four pieces of them in the
residents' quarters' dining area ^_^

I poured all of the spicy vinegar dip in the cup.

I'm going back for more tomorrow.
I hope they're open on Sundays.

SereniTea's Pepper Sweet Corn

Have you tried this one yet?

Well if you have, you would also like to make something like it at home.  I'm sure we can if there's Cajun powder, some salt and pepper around the house and a can of whole kernel corn.

My sister frequents SereniTea in Eastwood City and always brings me home a cob or two as per request.  I'm sure we're going to try making this on our own soon because we couldn't get enough of it.  And money is surely going to run out if we keep spending P50.00 for each one all the time.

Bon Chon Try-Outs

We've been driving by the recently opened Bon Chon branch along Libis.
And I have wondered since then what kind of chicken they were serving.

I found out today that they specialized in Soy Garlic and Spicy flavored Buffalo Wings.
Each piece is so small.  I was disappointed when I saw how little each piece was.
With the price you paid for, you would have expected a bigger piece.

But then, the taste is really, really good.
It's like you're eating junk food!
Which is probably more or less true because these are mostly wings
which definitely contains the bad fat.

We tried their Yogurt with Caramel syrup. It was pretty good.
Much better than most sour yogurt ice cream around.

Ginger Tofu Salad
I wasn't able to appreciate this much.
The dressing was pretty good though.

Their Kimchi Coleslaw is pretty spicy
and goes very well with their Buffalo Wings!

Taste: 4 Stars
They do have pretty good tasting Buffalo wings

Menu 3 Stars
There was such a few choices.  Jollibee has more choices.

Service: 4 stars
They have a few number of crew
but they are all attentive to the needs of the customers.

Ambiance 5 stars
Very clean environment
You don't smell the usual stench in a fast food restaurant.

Season For Becky's Kitchen

It's that time of the year again when you have to think about
what to give on Christmas season.
It has always been one of our family's consideration to
give away Becky's goodies.

I don't know what the above package of white cookies is called.
It  is the kind that crumbles easily in your mouth like our local Uraro cookies.
I was hoping it were hard cookies that taste like old fashioned doughnuts
that I used to eat when I was little.

Fudge brownies.
Not too sweet even if it's so chocolate-y.

Now here is my favorite.
Chewy oatmeal raisin walnut cookie!
This one is a must-try, must-eat, must-have-again!

The branch that we often frequent is the one in Valle Verde nearest to St.Paul College of Pasig.

Cajun Red Rock: Jack Daniel Ribs

Some Tomato-based soup for starters

And some of their Cajun and Butter burger bun toasts!

Jack Daniel Ribs with superbly seasoned rice.
Some corn (that lacked taste)
and shrimp and tartar sauce in one plate!

YUM YUM!

Lunch at Josephine's

2pm diners
Late lunch for many because of the heavy traffic
on the way to Tagaytay

I had cucumber cooler while waiting for our orders to arrive.

Shrimpcharon for appetizer

Our mainstay: Seafood Paella

Zarzuelang Luntian
Our vegetable dish during that visit.

Grilled Platter
Pork, Squid, Fish Fillet

As always, food and service is good.
It's just to bad that people have to wait
so long to be seated.
There are just too many people
eating in their restaurant.

Peanut Butter Crackers

One afternoon at home, I read a tweet that someone is enjoying Sky Flakes with peanut butter in the office.  Instantly, I wanted to eat one too!  And so, I rummaged the pantry cabinet and found Sky Flakes (the one in green package which was supposed to be healthier) and Peter Pan peanut butter.

I wished we had the original Sky Flakes crackers full of transfat because
that would definitely taste better with Peter Pan peanut butter.
