I don't know if it's just me but the Filipino dessert, Halo-Halo all taste the same.
I remember eating this in the province. Across the street of my grandmother's home, there is halo-halo stand. I remember that it wasn't usually manned by anyone. The ingredients were just displayed there without any attendant. You have to go to a nearby house to ask them to call the vendor. (There wasn't any phone line then nor intercom back then - well, until now).
So Max's was not different from what I'm used to. And I think in that way, it is special. Remember Ratatouille?
I kinda agree, most halo-halo taste the same. We're all better off getting some from those cheap neighborhood stores. Haha.
ReplyDeletei'm a fan of halo-halo, the one you can buy cheap on the street. i'm kind of half-hearted about the ones you can get from restaurants or food chains. i hope they'd be more generous with the ingredients.
ReplyDeleteYumm!!! I miss this!
