Spam, Egg and Seaweeds For Breakfast

What I had for breakfast

Toasted SPAM, steamed rice with crumbled Wasabi-flavored seaweed and sunny-side up.
Sounds like it doesn't go together right?
It wasn't as amazing as our favorite Tapsilog
but it wasn't so bad.

Ice Cream: Selecta's Caramel Cheesecake

I bought Selecta's Caramel Cheesecake yesterday from the grocery.
I thought that it's such a great idea to put
two of my favorite things in the world in one scoop together.
Who could go wrong with Caramel and Cheesecake?

But it's not for the weak of heart.
Or more appropriately, it's not for the weak of pancreas.
Boy, this one is just too sweet.

The caramel is good. Even the cheesecake highly resembles that of the thick
New York Cheesecake slices we get to eat.
But the Vanilla ice cream base is also sweet.
They could have downgraded the sweeteners in the ice cream.
And they should have let the caramel syrup and cheesecake do their thing.

But of course, all of the above won't stop me from getting another scoop.

Cajun Red Rock: Onion Rings and Iced Tea

I was alone again.  I was supposed to do some reading in CBTL but then there were no seats left.  And so I went to the restaurant almost next to it (in Atrium Megamall).

I have visited this place a couple of times before but always with someone.  This time, I ordered for myself.  They didn't have any coffee.  The waitress even offered to buy me a cup from CBTL that she could bring over my table (Now, THAT is service.)

But after seeing their list of beverages, I opted to try their Tony's Special Iced Tea drink.  I wondered how special it really was.  And also, I couldn't order anything but an appetizer because I just had lunch then.  There's still no room for anything heavy. I chose to order onion rings tower(??) instead.

They give buttered popcorn while you wait.
I wish they would give a fresh batch every time
because I thought it was stale popcorn already.

Their Tony's Special Iced Tea
Upper half is strawberry flavored
while the bottom half is green tea flavored.
I think you're not supposed to mix it up before drinking.

The waiter laughed at my reaction when I saw how humongous the rings were.
I was eating alone and this tower of onion rings is good for three or four people.
I didn't know it was going to be that much.

The upper side is covered with sesame seeds.
The under side is sprinkled with Cajun powder

Here's the interesting part: the dips.
We have Shallots dip (the green one),
the salad dip (which from what it tasted, is a mixture of honey mustard and Ceasar salad sauce)
and the dip with a wine in it (I forgot what wine).

Usually, there is no one dining in Cajun Red Rock on regular days.
But today, every table is with a customer.

Taste: 4 stars
I tasted their salad and burgers before.
And the onion rings proved that their food is really special.

Ambiance: 4 stars
Subtle TGIF or Chili's environment

Price: 3 stars
Quite expensive for someone like me.

Service: 4 stars
There were only two waiters that will wait hand and foot on each customer.
But somehow, they were able to manage.

SM Hypermarket's Taste Of Asia

My mom introduced me to her favorite dishes from Taste of Asia.  I didn't know until that time that she had dined here already.

Salt and Pepper Chicken!
I loved eating this.
I actually finished more than half of it.
And let me tell you that this was good for three people.

You cannot go wrong with a brocolli-mushroom-garlic dish.

I mistook this for a soup.
I almost scooped me a spoonful when I noted
that my mom poured it over her chicken instead
of sipping it from her spoon.
Whew! LOL!

I'm definitely going back there.

Lunch at Jatujak

This is my first time to try the Thai food from Jatujak which was a small restaurant in Megamall.  Good thing we passed that particular way or else, I would have not tried their good food today.

The Thai Green Tea and Thai Iced Tea

Chicken Salad
This is great appetizer
because the entire thing is almost submerged
in light vinegar, chili and sugar.

Kangkong dish

Everyone who visits Jatujak needs to try
their Pineapple Curry Fried Rice

Their is this squid dish...
I forgot what they called it
but it's not the stuffed squid we were supposed to order.

Lunch at Penang Hill

Met my sister in Shangri-la and we decided to pay another visit to Penang Hill.

Roti Canai
We were supposed to pair this up with Thai Beef Salad
But they don't have it in their menu anymore.

Salted Fish Fried Rice
is not too salty!
It's pretty good too!

Tilapia with their Assem Sembal (?) sauce.

I was very thankful for this visit.
I missed Penang Hill so much.

French Toast

We couldn't think of anything to eat for snack and so, we bought some pandesal in the village bakery.  We only have so much money and so, we bought just ten pieces of it.  We sliced it up and dipped it in the mixture of egg yolk and sweetened condensed milk.

Best anytime of the day!
